with no publication date and no edition type listed, although 'Mr. Sponge's Sporting Tour' (first published after this book) is listed on the title page; old rebinding by Sizer - stamp to front pastedown - for the Union Club; half-bound leather on leather with seven raised bands to spine; circular 'Union Club' stamp to prelims and first page; with green endpapers and 'Union Club' bookplate to front pastedown; a little rubbing to hinges and edges of covers else in very good condition for age; front and rear endpapers have cracked, but the book remains tightly bound; all plates are present and tightly bound in - plate 6, 'Muff Refuses The Brush' is bound opposite page 204, and not page 226 as noted in the book's list of 'Engravings on Steel'
